Experience in Emerging Europe investments since 2003
Valdur is Investment Manager, co-Chief Investment Officer and a Member of Investment Committee at Avaron. He is co-heading the investment team together with Peter Priisalm. He is a Founding Partner.
Valdur holds a M.A. degree in finance from University of Tartu. He has also studied in Jönköping International Business School in Sweden.
He started his career in 2001 performing accounting and financial analysis services to Estonian SMEs. In 2003 he joined a regional investment bank Trigon Capital as a Buy-Side Analyst to build up the Balkan region listed equity know-how and during 2004-2007 he acted as Investment Manager of Balkan portfolios. In 2007 Valdur co-founded Avaron.
Giving back to community is important for Valdur. He has given lectures at the University of Tartu on finance and investments as well as taught school kids on investing. In 2017 he together with other entrepreneurs launched Youth to Olympics Foundation to finance sports careers of promising Estonian athletes.
Valdur is fluent in English and Estonian. His hobbies are value investing and endurance sports (cross-country skiing and triathlon). Valdur has finished Hawaii Ironman triathlon twice, in 2014 and 2016.
